A figure is shown lying on the ground in the painting and its appears as a dead body which is surrounded by still alive victims of war from all sides and their heads are shown as thrown back and all these victims are crying loud due to extreme physical sufferings caused due to wars. On the left side of the painting, a mother figure is shown that is clutching her baby who seems to be dead due to continuous bombings.
This painting is a master piece showing the evil effects of war for mankind. It portrays the tragedies and suffering through which the innocent civilians undergo.
