The literature on the topic can be traced back to the history of Chinese music because different researchers has attempted to explore different dynamics associated with music and the factors that played important role in the determination of trends being followed by the music industry. The characteristics of ―standardization and ―pseudo-individualization were recognized by Theodor W. Adorno (1941) and this evidence can be presented to support the view that literature on music dates back to the logic of commodity production. The opinion and arguments that were presented in this study are perceived to be very important in the theoretical work that is done on the topic of music.

Many researchers are of the view that music industry is also a business and therefore the attributes of music industry are similar to those associated with other important industries that are contributing towards development of country. Music is considered to be a sub-head of cultural industry and it can be said that this branch was faced is industrialization earlier the any other sector of economy Ling Wang’s (2010). The role of a creator and a performer is played by composers and artists respectively. The promotion of this industry is only possible when there are enough rules and regulation regarding code of conduct required to be followed by the individuals associated with this industry. In addition to this anything that is not in accordance with the cultural values of China should not be allowed to be followed because such things deteriorate the moral values of individuals in a country (Hamm, 1991). Similar to  any other industry there are distributors plying their role in music industry and such distributors are responsible for the distribution of music products to the retailers who then sale them in order to generate profits. The level of profitability is the main objective of all the individuals involved in the process of production of musical products that is the reason that anything that maximized profits is expected to be pursued by the stakeholders.
