想想一群老虎在丛林里包含一个老虎和Y tigresses(y是正整数)。

The major factors that affect wildlife loss are loss or damage to their habitat, overexploitation through hunting, poaching or fishing and climate change (Cooper, 2014). Interestingly, all these causes are anthropogenic. One could argue that wildlife should regenerate itself even though humans are exploiting them. But, this argument is possible only if the rate of consumption of the wildlife resources is less than or equal to their regeneration. The existence of the problem of wildlife extinction and endangerment clearly points out that the consumption of the wildlife resources is much more than their production, or rather regeneration.
In fact, theories in the context of environmental resources exist that say that the regeneration capacity of the resources is directly proportional to the stock of the resource (Perman, Ma, McGilvary, & Common, 2003). This theory when applied to the case of wildlife consumption and regeneration implies that as the hunting of the animals would increase their ability of regeneration declines. This can be explained logically as well. Think of a group of tigers in a jungle which contains one tiger and y tigresses (y is a positive integer). The gestation period of a tiger is 93-112 days. If one assumes that it is 100 days, y tigresses can produce 3y cubs in a year. If however, due to hunting, the number of tigresses decreases to say, (y-x), where x is a positive integer less than y, then in a year the number of cubs produced will be only 3(y-x). Thus, as the population of the wildlife decreases, their ability to regenerate themselves declines as well.
Typical demand-supply rule in the market economics say that equilibrium should exist when the demand, here hunting of the animals and supply, here regeneration of the wildlife are equal to each other. When the hunting will increase, the regeneration capacity of the wildlife will decrease leading to a decline in the population of the wildlife which in turn will lead to a decline in the hunting. This phenomenon can be expressed in the form of a demand-supply interaction .
