Globalization
Computer technology, emails, cheap telephone contacts, jet airplanes, huge oceangoing vessels and instant capital flows has dramatically increased the pace of human societies across the globe and have made the world much more independent than ever. Due to the advancements made in the recent modern era the interchange between ideas, cultures, traditions, finances, products and economies have become much more volatile and transitory forcing every little or large companies to go global and internationalize themselves, keeping alive in the competition.
Articulation
The case study presented discussed and compare in detail about the retail giant of Europe, Zara. The aim is to develop a sketch of the global operations in respect to five globalization trends. It describes the entire designing, manufacturing, distribution and retailing of the company in detail highlighting the respective uniqueness in their operations. The first part discussed about the scenarios how retailer had came into its existence. Later it developed the entire designing phase in detail pointing out its pros and cons. The third phase of the case discussed in detail the entire manufacturing and distribution strategies with their logistics system. The analysis tries to highlight the unique operational technology developed and implemented by Zara. This methodology gives an explanation why they are global leaders and so much prolific in their business nature.
