Maslow’s hierarchy of needs states that Human beings have wants and desire that influence their behavior. Also unsatisfied needs can only influence behavior and satisfied needs cannot. Since human needs are many Maslow has arranged them in the order of importance, from basic to the complex. The five levels are physiological need, safety need, social need, self-esteem and self-actualization need, respectively. Any person looks for the next level of need only on the satisfaction of previous level of need. As each of the levels is substantially satisfied, the next level becomes dominant. In order to motivate a person to one level, it is important to satisfy the needs of the previous level (Mehta and Chouhan, 2009).
Haier follows Maslow’s hierarchy of needs in satisfying and motivating its employees. Haier provides training to all its administrators, professionals and workers such that each one can get an equal chance to improve their skills and move forward in their career.
