Open learning has at the prospect of being customizable and the student has great advantages as to choose what he thinks is best for him. He can pinpoint his own weaknesses and find out what best is there in the package that can help him address it. However it must be mentioned that not all managers are capable of learning on their own. They have to have a guide who can find out their fallacies and help them correct them. Students may be wayward with whatever they have and might also get distracted.
Moreover, managers might not have the motivation to pursue open learning which is in fact a form of self-study. It is a well known fact that self-studying involves a greater degree of motivation than the learning that takes place in a classroom. Some students agree themselves that they need somebody to look after them while they are learning (Billsberry 2000).
