As I worked in Knit wear department I know about this department and my findings are from this department. For the knit wear department designer discusses with Mary and then the selected design is send for experiment, color ways, placement and material. These experiments are conducted by assistants and interns of every department. After the experiment final outcomes are presented to Mary and stylist. Finally this design is ordered with the manufactory to make the products (resort). From the visual image of the research about color ways, color palette, art work and main theme of the product are developed by the head Designer (Mary). After this each designer of individual departments start to design different color ways into the artwork, placement of the artwork, order the yarn catalog and design the main yarn (Carr and Newel, 2014). This cycle is again repeated by the main designers of the departments after Mary conducts the experiment and then experiments are conducted again by individual designers of every department. In this experiment interesting textiles on the surface are explore which are later send to the production for making the sample. This sample is then shown to the head designer; she looks at the sample and makes necessary adjustments and illustrations.
Areas for improvement
The major area for improvement is about the time management that is very bad at the company. The main designer of the company is the main focus of every one and she is the one who starts the work. When Mary is not coming work is stopped and when she comes before the show everyone needs to work hard even till midnights.
Good areas of the company
This company has given many learning opportunities as I worked at the knit wear department everyone been friendly and collaborative. The collaborative culture of the company was the best part of the company and this is the main reason why this designer brand is becoming so successful every day. Atmosphere of the company is very good. No difference is present between the designers, assistant and inters as everyone is working together for developing the product.
