Education under the Han Dynasty
The Han rulers also patronized education and this led to the creation of a new elite class and a class of thinkers. Various important books were written and collected. Major areas of study were anthology, History and geography. The well-known book going back to this dynasty is the book on mountains and seas. This book comprises of all possible information on the geographical, ecology, study of plants and animals and the diverse but known myths.
It was during the Han Dynasty only hat Sima Qian, The well-known Chinese historian, finished his famous book, “The Records of the Great Historian.” This book developed as exemplary for history book. This is the acknowledged effort in China to maintain recorded past in a concrete shape.
There was growth in various sectors, enhances techniques of irrigation were developed to be used in the colonization of northern China. There were investments made to study agriculture and make innovations like crop rotation. China under the Han dynasty had the monopoly over the production of Iron and salt for around a century. Apart from this there was also development in production of silk and copper work.
