The Yuan Dynasty
There was a diversification and a lot of worth in cultural traditions that was witnessed during the Yuan Dynasty. This development can be termed as quite alike the development in the other eras in the history of China. Another feather in the cap was added during this dynasty that is the addition of drama and book writing (fiction). The written native language was used more predominantly. The Mongols started to establish contacts with Europe and West Asia and there was increase and patronizing of the use of musical instruments, particularly from the western region, more so because the contacts had developed. At this time there was great spree of Islam in the central regions of Asia. More and more Chinese had started to settle in the southwest and northwest region. Tolerance for catholic religion was also witnessed during this time. Taoism and Buddhism both flourished during this era and Confucian ideologies were again instituted.
Because of the growing interest in education and more exposure one could see the advancements made in the field of Literature, travel, medicine technology and scientific education. Europe got to witness a lot of inventions from China during this era, particularly, in printing, cards, porcelain, and medicine. Along with it there was an increase in glass production in China.
