This segment sheds light on yet another form of management development exercise, that is, the open learning. The term open learning was used in the 70s. The concept was first aimed at making sure that the constraints that used to hinder the learning process such as place and time were not there to act as hindrances anymore. Thus their removal was sought to make the process of learning more dynamic and eventually more effective. Sometimes the terms distance learning and open learning are thus used synonymously.
Opening learning is a tool that has been made highly adaptive thanks to the use technology. However, just because it is a highly adaptable learning tool does not mean that it cannot have disadvantages as well.
