The competitiveness between rival companies has become ever so large. No company, whether large or small, enjoys monopoly.


Peter. F. Drucker acknowledged, “There is only one valid definition of business purpose, which is to create a customer.” For any business to be successful, it must find customers for its products. This is the reason the customers thus constitute the most important element in the micro environment of business. Products sales depend mainly on the degree of consumer satisfaction.


Suppliers (individuals or business houses) combined together and provide resources that are needed by the company. The company needs to develop specifications, search for potential suppliers, analyze them and thereafter choose those suppliers who offer best mix of quality, delivery reliability, credit, warranties and obviously low cost.

The general public

The company needs to satisfy the public along with the competitors and customers. This determines its growth in the future reference. The company needs to create trust, value and goodwill amongst public.

Marketing intermediates

These are responsible for promoting, selling and distributing the goods to the ultimate consumers. It is efficient and easier to work through the established marketing channels instead of creating one and thus going for experiments.

Workers and Union

Since labor is the building block of a company, it needs adequate importance. Industrial relation is important as it improves harmony amongst labor and management.


All major companies rely on the marketing intermediates, like distributors, for distributing their products. It is not possible for them to have a direct supply relationship in spite of having strong brand relationship with customers.

Micro environments have a direct impact on the overall growth of the company. Hence, the management should always look for the factors or areas that need improvement so that the overall performance of the company can be improved.
