Media technologies

McLuhan declaration (1994) stated that medium is more important than the content of the message. He stated that there should be more importance given to how the medium has been contracted and presented to people. It does not factor in about the content or the differential views of the situation.

Media technologies increase the scope of how the information is presented to people and is an extension of the basic human communication. This has created a situation where there is increase of communication and caused the world to become a global village. Hot and cool media are two kinds of media. Hot media consists of voluminous data and uses the latest technology. There is more information presented to people. There is more importance given to the assimilation and presentation of data. In the case of hot media such as the print medium and the TV media, it consists of presenting data to the passive audience. In the case of cool media, there is an increase in the audience participation. The concept of active audience becomes pronounced in these cases. Each of the media has its own advantages and disadvantages. There arose a situation in the societies as to which form of media was considered to be the best. It was found from this analysis that people in general were in a conundrum as to which media tool to consider (Habermas, 2015).

Internet has caused a paradigm change in the societies. It has been found that in the past few decades, there has been an increase in the usage of the Internet. It cannot be dismissed that the usage of Internet has become ubiquitous owing to its usage and effectiveness. It is cost effective and has an ease of usage and time saving.
