Workplace relationships are a constant source of stress Sometimes there are supervisors related issues, there are conflicts and then there are lack of support too. This causes stress increase to the employee.
Co-worker rapport, sympathy and empathy tendencies, the lack of support at times would also contribute to the stress variable.
Co-worker relationship conflicts, especially as considered in the context of rules and regulations has often been reported in research as one of the key variables impacting on stress. Sometimes there are even reports of threat of violence, harassment, etc. There are threats to personal safety as well which are seen to be issues. In the long run, these threats lead to the lack of trust as well impacting on worker relationships .

In relationship forming at the workplace, the management might lack systems and support that are usually made available to employees especially in the context of overcoming workplace issues. This lack of systems in workplace available to correct unacceptable behaviours and improve a trust of working could be detrimental. A participation (or non-participation) decision making action might lead to workplace stress, especially if the employees are not trained in what is expected from them. This is especially stressful in an ambiguous environment where the employees are expected to deal with things at their own discretion.
