However, the combination of future based science fiction as an element and society satires of contemporary nature were evident from various perspectives of Tono-Bungay. Firstly, George Ponderovo was apprenticeship to Edward Uncle who was a highly dynamic pharmacist also responsible for inventing a medicine which is Tono-Bungay and gains the ability to earn him extreme wealth through such medium. But as Edward’s spectacular increase is witnessed, George further contemplates on the corruption in England’s society allowing people such as his Uncle to earn wealth through unwanted and unethical means. This further depicts the breadth that in Tono-Bungay, H.G Wells illustrates confiding to the real ethics in the society which with growth has started to diminish from the society.
The work of Tono-Bungay is an unusual novel wherein 2 genres have combined and remained (science fiction and the commentary in society). The novel further has followed the increase and decrease that an empire faces which is based especially on unethical means such as bogus medicine.

However, Tono-Bungay itself occurs with the Felix Krull Confessions, Confidence Man and William Gaddis, wherein a humbuggery world based on false notions of the society have been developed leading towards losing the authentic apprehension where everything else is grown in a fake manner counterfeiting only smoke and shiny mirrors(Wells 19). Uncle Edward more than once in Tono-Bungay recalls Mr. Merdle (the main Dickens financer) and Bernie Madoff (Ponzie Scamming). Ultimately however, George combined the empire of Ponderevo as the image of compactness and sample of everything that has to pass to make a progress, of every spending through inflated advertisements and the focus-less built up of the empire for financial gains resulting in withstanding the wrongful doings in the society.
