A decluttered effect with abstraction at various degrees helps present a simpler façade. Therefore, even a very complex website with multiple functionalities (as in a commercial sense) would still require some amount of simplicity. So in considering the content that was to be presented and the layout selections I had to make a decision trade-off between the layout and the actual content. Now, I am a travel photographer and hence most of my pictures represent my philosophy in photography. So the content would vary based on what I would want to highlight in photography. In this case, it is necessary to understand that content variations by itself would create a sense of complexity to the viewer. However, I cannot control the content I post on the website, because the purpose of the website is to present my creativity and my photography. Since content modification is out of the question, the next thing I could focus on in order to maintain the element of simplicity is how to present the content.
In the presentation of the content, I made use of a more generic layout and theme. This was to ensure simplicity; the font and font size were also retained with a more general simple and readable style. Increasing readability was just as critical, and I also decided to keep less text elements in the website because, I wanted to audience of my website to visually view it and not to read it and interpret it. The website is part of the artwork of photography that I have presented, and audience should be guided by the text elements and not read much into the written text, this was the motto in generating content layout for the website.
With the addition of content and layout, also comes the more important element of adding passive and active structures in the website. In the past more interactive functionality was added by the use of dynamic elements such as RichFaces and more.
