China is one of the most challenging and competitive business markets in the whole world today. At present, it has become challenging for many local and foreign companies to build and maintain a better position in the market. There is a permanent lack of talent in the world. Every employee is moving around for better opportunity. In face of such intense competition, it is imperative to understand how Human Resources can add the value to increase the company’s capability in the cut throat competition. The Chinese companies can give the best lesson to the world. This study was conducted on Haier, one of the apex-group companies in China which grew up rapidly in the last twenty years. Having started its business operations in 1984 with approximately 100 numbers of employees, they now have more than 70000 employees and a range of diverse products. This research analyzes the background, milestone and the HR strategies of Haier and suggests improvement plans to make it emerge as one of the top players in the market.
